Donation Fail!

It's been way too long since I've posted anything here, but LJ has been low on my list lately. Sorry fList!
Well, today has turned into a "I need to rant, or I'm gonna kill someone" day.
My daughter has a medical condition that requires several medications a day. most we can get locally, which is great. But she takes one that needs to be filled at a specialty pharmacy. Specifically it's HGH or Human Growth Hormone. She needs this because she doesn't produce any on her own.
On Thursday, I called the pharmacy to set up a delivery for Friday and approved UPS to just leave it without signature. I've been doing it that way for years with no problems. On Monday last week, I got a call from one of the charities that I donate to on a regular basis to see if I had anything to donate. Their truck was to be in my neighborhood on Friday. One of the requirements for donation is to mark, clearly "For XXXX Donation" on any box or bags that are left out, which I always do to avoid mix ups.
So Friday comes and hubby forgot to put out the donation bag. Kid had an appointment so I left the house around 9:00 never noticing the donation bag sitting by the door. By the time we got home, the time was after the supposed pick up time. Normally they pick up between 8:30-10:30.
I figured, oh well, they'll call again, and I'll put it out the night before. So now I'm waiting for my daughters medication shipment. During the day, I run a few errands and didn't really think about it. So 5:00 comes and goes and no meds delivery. At this point, It's too late to call the pharmacy to check on it and UPS was no help to let me know if it was delivered.
The whole weekend goes by, since the pharmacy isn't open on the weekends, I had to call today to see what was up. They told me they got confirmation that is was delivered. Now I start thinking and the only conclusion I can come up with is that the donation driver picked up the meds while we were out.
Now comes the rant. First, you would think the driver would take a look at the box and 1. see that's it has not been opened, 2. that it still has all the shipping info on the box, 3. that it's too fucking small to be a a real donation and 4. no where on the damn box does it say "for donation"! The use of common sense must have been too hard.
Ok, the driver didn't pay any attention at all. So now, I'm assuming he took it to the donation center to have the bags/boxes unloaded and sorted. Now I would hope someone there would at least look at this box and go "huh?", but I guess not. Ok I'll give them that too. After all someone has to bring down the median IQ. Now, last ditch thought, you would think someone would open the damn box and see that it has medicine in it with all the corresponding paperwork that goes with it. Now, a smart person would think, maybe I should call the phone number on the box and see what gives. It's not like this box is a plain brown box. No, it is a warming/caution box. It specifically says "Refrigerated Medication Inside. Do Not Freeze" with a cute little penguin on it!
So now, I'm beyond pissed, I'm fucking pissed. You mean to tell me that no one has the common sense of an knat, and at least call on Friday to find out what's up!
With today being a holiday, no one was there to find out what's going on. Will need to try tomorrow. I'm not expecting them to tell me what happened. In all honestly, I'm expecting lies to cover their own asses.
They will never get another donation from me!
